AMERICAN THEATRE | Street Much less Traveled Productions Launches Internship Program 


BUFFALO, N.Y. : Street Much less Traveled Productions (RLTP) has introduced the RLTP Bridge Program, a 16-week paid internship alternative for college kids curious about a profession within the arts.  

The internship, sponsored by RLTP, is particularly designed to supply college students and early artists of shade with hands-on expertise that can nurture their long-term careers within the theatrical business. The internship will run Jan. 2023 via Might 2023. 

This system will provide a number of concentrations comparable to directing, performing, playwriting, design, and stage administration, and college students will select one space as their focus. The purpose is for college kids to have an elevated consciousness and appreciation for all areas of theatre with an emphasis on collaboration. Interns will attend weekly conferences with mentors, community with RLTP visitor artists of shade, and will likely be paid for his or her work on manufacturing load-ins, load-outs, and entrance of home duties.

Actor, author, director, casting agent, and program director Peter Johnson will spearhead the RLTP Bridge Program. The internship can even embody collaboration with RLTP ensemble member and Raíces Theatre Firm creative director, Victoria Pérez. (Raíces Theatre Firm is at the moment in residence at Street Much less Traveled Theater). 

“In nearly 20 years of being immersed within the theatre and movie business, in my hometown of Buffalo, N.Y., I’ve seen an absence of artists of shade illustration in nearly all features of the business,” stated Johnson in a press release.  “As an artist, part of my mission is to encourage and supply younger artists with sources on how they are often profitable on this aggressive business. It’s my private purpose to supply younger artists of shade knowledgeable platform that can give them “palms on expertise” with mentorship and steering that can finally result in extra profession alternatives for artists of shade on this business.” 

Functions for the RLTP Bridge Program are open till Nov. 27.
