Former Bolivian minister in Áñez’s administration pleads responsible within the US to a number of crimes

Former Bolivian authorities minister Arturo Murillo, probably the most influential within the administration of former de facto president Jeanine Áñez (2019-2020), pleaded responsible to crimes reminiscent of bribery and cash laundering within the US, as confirmed Thursday by the state prosecutor, Wilfredo Chávez.

In a subsequent listening to, the US Justice is predicted to impose a sentence of at the very least six years.

Subsequently, Chávez stated that an extradition course of could be activated for him to reply in Bolivia for the massacres of Senkata and Sacaba, by which at the very least 27 individuals died in November 2019.

In accordance with the investigation, Murillo obtained bribes from overseas businessmen to safe a US$5.6 million contract, for the acquisition of tear gasoline and non-lethal tools for the Bolivian state.

Áñez’s former strongman was arrested within the US in 2021.
