Greater than three years after the sequence finale, the ending of Recreation of Thrones continues to be dividing followers and actors alike. Whereas a few of the sequence’ actors, like Package Harrington and Isaac Hempstead Wright have spoken out in protection of Recreation of Thrones’ ultimate season, others like Lena Headey have vocalized their disappointment in how issues ended for his or her characters.
Maisie Williams, who performed Arya Stark within the sequence, has shared her combined emotions on her characters’ arc within the ultimate season earlier than, telling Leisure Weekly in 2019 that she initially noticed issues ending very otherwise for Arya, saying “And I wished Arya to kill Cersei even when it means [Arya] dies too. Even as much as the purpose when Cersei’s with Jaime I assumed [while reading the script], ‘He’s going to whip off his face [and reveal its Arya]’ and so they’re each going to die. I assumed that’s what Arya’s drive has been.”
“Then I noticed there have been different issues I may play, bringing Arya again to being a 16-year-old once more.” Williams continued “It’s not a Recreation of Thrones ending for Arya, it’s a contented ending. It gave me a spot to take Arya that I by no means thought I’d go together with her once more.” Nonetheless, regardless that Williams grew to understand the ultimate arc of her character, she’s not afraid to confess that she isn’t a fan of how the sequence ended total.
